Does it actually matter?

For many people, the title and training of the professional (i.e. counsellor, psychologist, psychotherapist) matters less than the sense that they trust and get along with their professional.

But there are times when it really does matter.
For example, the term 'psychotherapist' is unregulated in Australia, meaning anyone can use it.
And only medical doctors, like General Practitioners (GPs) and psychiatrists, can prescribe medication.
